BIOGRAPHY

History

Greg "Outcast" Lo had a rough life growing up. His mixed ethnic background earned him the name "Outcast" as his Chinese father (Hu San Lo) married a Spanish woman (Juanita Soares). He was constantly having to "prove himself" among his peers as he was constantly picked on and sometimes bullied. His father always stressed duty and honor, his mother, education and philosophy. His father served as a Lance Sergeant in the Capellan Hussars as a tanker in an armored unit. He was killed in 3062 during the Capellan and St Ives Compact earning the Grand Cordon of Merit, posthumously. His mother works for one of the mining companies on Sarna. Greg wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father but he wanted more. He wanted to be a Mechwarrior. Greg always thought his ethnic background contributed to his rejections to the major Capellan military academies as his grades were top notch. In 3066, he was finally accepted into the Sarna Military Academy. Greg was exposed to a more diverse ethnic mix as the academy opened their doors to all thus making it the least prestigious academy in the Confederation. Greg got along well with his peers and quickly became popular with his peers and teachers as he seemed to be a natural with handling a mech. He graduated in the Top 5 in his class. He currently serves with Renshield's Renegades on Tsinghai. Greg feels he is being held back by his chain of command and is ready to move on. Other than the simulators, Greg has not fought in any major battles. Mostly, just minor skirmishes with local protestors. In the simulator he prefers getting in close with the enemy and using the hatchet on his Hatchetman mech.

Personality

Greg is proud to be Capellan, although oftentimes he shunned by his peers because of his ethnic background. He looks past this due to his strong sense of honor and duty to the Capellan Confederation. He also deals with this through strenuous martial arts workouts and meditation. He feels he is being tolerated by his chain of command due to his fatherï's service record. Although never tested in real battle, Greg keeps a cool head while under fire. He responds well to orders and works well with his lance mates. He has befriended an old sergeant who served with his father. The sergeant is one of the cadre in the garrison simulators and close to retirement. Greg stays in contact with his mother and calls her a couple of times a week.
