PLANETARY DETAILS:

Arcadia was one of the earliest member planets in the Federated Suns, joining in the second wave of new membership. Populated by mostly Scandinavian settlers, the planet's most famous citizen was Marge Svensdottar, wife of Federated Suns President Paul Davion. Arcadia was a "garden world", with bountiful water, extensive agriculture, abundant raw materials, and booming industry. That it lost out to New Avalon, a strife-ridden world at the time, for the choice of capitol of the Federated Suns, was a surprise, and laid the seeds for resentment that showed itself during the conspiracies against Edward Davion, but never had a chance to fully ripen.

Then came the 1st Succession War, and Arcadia was taken from the universe. Like many other rich worlds in the realm and outside, it was quickly targeted by the enemies of House Davion, and without the defensive capabilities of a garrison like the capitol world's, Arcadia succumbed to non-conventional weapons, with those who could fleeing the system. Quarantined, and then removed from current starmaps, the system was forgotten...or so everyone thought.

Socio-Industrial Levels:

Technological Development

High-tech world with advanced research centers and universities; best medical care available; cutting-edge microelectronics industry.

Industrial Output

World has a wide industrial base that produces many different types of products and exports most of its output.

Agricultural Dependence

EMPLOYER SITUATION REPORT:

The Word of Blake has responded aggressively to our probes of Arcadia, far more aggressively than expected. We have reports from surveillance satellites of more assets traveling through uninhabited systems as well. Further enemy reinforcement is possible. The High Command has had to argue forcefully to keep their invasion force from being siphoned off to deal with Blakist attacks in the Kestrel Combat Region. With a sudden surge in fighting in the Outback, this has become doubly difficult. Luckily, the time to strike has come. We are releasing Task Force Atlantis for the invasion of Arcadia.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

1) Seize control of Arcadia.
2) N/A

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

1) Preserve as much of the Word's manufacturing capacity and research facilities in the system as possible.
2) N/A
